When my cousins came over, I was introduced to some obscure but really good bands. Well, they’re probably not obscure to some or most but they’re definitely obscure to me because it’s either I haven’t heard about them or I’ve heard about them once or twice but never listened to their music. So during my week-long vacation, I spent a significant amount of time downloading songs from bands like Snow Patrol, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Breaking Benjamin, Dragonforce, Story Of The Year and All Time Low. I’ve encountered bands like Alkaline Trio and rediscovered Weird Al Yankovic.

Snow Patrol has a really nice song in their Final Straw album called Chocolate. I figure that’s where they got the name for their album. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus has a couple of good songs but one song I frequently listen to is Your Guardian Angel which in their previous album (so says JR) was simply called The Acoustic Song. Really nice. Breaking Benjamin has Diary of Jane and Blow Me Away which is from the Halo 2 soundtrack. They also have this neat song called Rain where they used the line rain, rain, go away, come again another day. Dragonforce is for this who like metal opera. Awesome riffs and equally awesome vocals.

But before you do that, listen to You’re Pitiful by Weird Al first.

The music video was a nice watch. But I loved the lyrics more.

I already liked MCR (My Chemical Romance) when I first saw their funeral MTV and heard their passionate melodies and lyrics.

This time around though, I’m definitely loving them. The album The Black Parade is really worth listening to! I don’t really religiously follow the band but when I first saw their music video for Welcome to the Black Parade, I already had a feeling that the tune was all too familiar. Much to my joy, it really was MCR, coming back with their third album.

The music video itself showed very strong images about the band’s lyrics for the song.
