I am sure a lot of you have been waiting for this day to come, when Sony finally announced the next generation Playstation Portable, considering that their yet to be released Xperia Play device (or Playstation Phone) was already making waves in both the mobile phone and gaming industry, sporting Android under the hood and promising you mobile gaming goodness the Sony way.
Now, here we have the much anticipated upgrade to the Playstation Portable line. The Playstation Portable 2 (codenamed NGP). And honestly, I am quite excited with what I see here and in the next series of press shots that I’ll be including.

More after the jump. Continue Reading

I’ve been looking around for laptop speakers that, in my opinion, would look nice and at the same time, fit the small space where I have my laptop situated in. But most of the worthwhile options have always had a subwoofer component along with it and that wasn’t exactly something I wanted to carry around.
Then I visited Engadget today and saw this:

FINALLY! I saw this come up for preorder at a local store (Wasabi Toys) and I was initially worried that this might not be for real since I didn’t see anything coming up in Amiami.com. But when I Googled this SIC, so many results turned up that this was actually a legit release, much to my joy, of course! Continue Reading

This started less than a month back, just a couple of weeks into when I started using Sun Cellular’s BlackBerry Internet Service. I had switched to Sun’s BIS for two things: I’m a postpaid plan owner so having the BIS as part of my bill makes paying convenient instead of doing it the prepaid way with Globe, and second, Sun’s BIS was cheaper (Php999 per month for unlimited BIS, tax inclusive).
So after much deliberation, I finally switched to Sun’s BIS.
Boy was I wrong.

Bandai had already released Kamen Rider Kuuga before but I wasnt too fond of how it looked since it was bordering along the “Another” styling of SIC action figures where it was very skinny and organic-looking. But it looks like Bandai is enjoying the success of their Kamen Rider Kabuto release with Decade Final Form Ride parts so now they’re releasing SIC Kamen Rider Kuuga Decade Edition with Kuuga Final Form Ride parts.
I’m actually liking the look and size of this one. The proportions are better on this one I think since as I said earlier, I found for earlier release of Kamen Rider Kuuga to be too skinny for my taste. This one looks like it can really support you in a brawl. He is definitely bulkier than the previous form. Continue Reading

I mentioned in a previous post that I had started using a BlackBerry and I must say that it’s been a fun device to use so far. That is until you realize how much an unlimited data plan costs. My device is an unlocked/open line device so that means I can put in any SIM card from any service provider and I’d be able to use it.
When I first purchased my BB, there were two service providers here in the Philippines that offered BIS: SMART and Globe Telecomm. I maintain two numbers: a Globe prepaid account and a Sun line. I was happy to find out that Globe had released a prepaid BIS offering for those who have BlackBerry devices but didn’t want to sign up for a postpaid plan. I was more than happy to fork over Php1,200 for a 30-day unlimited service.
I just told myself that it’s just Php600 per payday.
Right. Continue Reading

Since GSC had revamped their RQ Miku for their Goodsmile Racing brand, I guess they found it “necessary” to revamp the other RQ designs for their vocaloids. You recall that they had already released a puchi Nendoroid set of the first RQ Miku design along with RQ Lin and Luka. So now that they have a new design for RQ Miku pointing around that gas pump, they just had to redesign RQ Lin and Luka to match RQ Miku’s new look. Continue Reading

Update: Preorders are up in Amiami.com. Release date is late October 2010.
The last update I saw on Mikatan when I checked the site this morning was that figurine of Dead Master to complement GSC’s figurine of Black Rock Shooter.
Mark aka Coffeebugg was having a quick chat with me at my desk earlier when I had dropped by Mikatan’s blog again “hoping” that there’d be something new to see.
Lo and behold, Mikatan had posted a new Nendoroid prototype: Nendoroid Saber.
At first glance we were just really happy to see an actual Nendoroid Saber in colored form since the previous versions shown in conventions was the grey proto version which didn’t really show off much. And again, with Saber Lily released before this, we figured that was one tough Nendoroid to beat in the popularity contest.
We were wrong. Very wrong.

At this angle, it looks like every other Nendoroid that came out of GSC shelves. Neh? Continue Reading

There was another swimsuit figurine for the Shining Wind series that I was quite interested in because the sculpt looked really nice. But I had to pass on Seena for budget reasons, among other things. This one however, takes the cake. Combining a really nice sculpt for the face, an awesome body and a sexy swimsuit, Max Factory’s Swimsuit version for Kureha from Shining Wind really does well to remind me that summer is here!

I first saw this as an item that was up for preorder in Amiami and apparently, it was already posted in Mikatan’s blog. Continue Reading

Aside from the goosebump-inducing developments in One Piece, the news I’m getting from stuff pre-ordered and upcoming is just staggering! There’s so much to talk about that I was temped to break them up into different posts but I decided to just lump them all together into a single post and leave you guys to ogling them.

Amiami.com finally has merchandise pics of SIC Kamen Rider Ixa and Dark Kiva. But looking at the English site for Amiami, it appears that you would not be able to preorder this through the site. But the odd thing is that I don’t recall this item coming out for preorder in the English site although I did see it in the Japanese site. Japan-exclusive item? Probably. Either way, I’m getting my grubby hands on them.
