Ok, before that, this is my first post using the new WordPress 3.0.1. I know I was a bit late in upgrading but I must say, it’s definitely snappier than the previous version on the backend.

Anyways, so I’ve owned this BlackBerry for a couple of months now and I can definitely say I’m a happy user. I can see the iPhone and Android users rolling their eyes saying in the back of their minds: “That’s because you haven’t tried using an iPhone/Android”.
But seriously, I’m quite happy right now with my BlackBerry and the things I am able to do with it.
I chose to make the switch when I was finally getting tired of my old Sony Ericsson W960 and wanted to change brands and phone types. Prior to the switch, I have not owned a QWERTY smartphone so this is a bit of a change for me as well. I have always been interested in what the hype was with BlackBerry smartphones and why they were popular amongst a good number of people so when I found out that one of our telecomm companies here provided prepaid service for BIS, I figured it was the right time to get one.
My first and current BlackBerry isn’t an expensive one. It’s a BlackBerry Curve 8520. Will it be my last BlackBerry device? Probably not. Will I upgrade to a Bold in the future? Highly likely. Will I try out a touchscreen BlackBerry? No. Unless it’s the BlackBerry PlayBook. Continue Reading

Suddenly got the urge to make my own patterned wallpaper. I’ve seen those nice patterned wallpapers mimicking nice old designs but I preferred something with a Japanese flavor to it. So I went and looked for a Japanese wave pattern to use as my base for this patterned wallpaper.
Lately, I’ve also had an eye for gemstone shades of green so I decided to use those shades for my Japanese wave pattern wallpaper.

The first one that I worked on was a wallpaper for my widescreen display. You can view the bigger image of my desktop screenshot in my deviantart page. This was also featured in a site called digitalvanity.me. Continue Reading

I’m back to using a bare and simple wallpaper mainly because I stumbled on a really cute fanart from an artist named ~ryo-hakkai in deviantart in my quest to find Summer Wars wallpaper (oh I absolutely LOVE that movie and cannot stop watching it over and over again). For those who haven’t watched Summer Wars the two characters on my wall are Natsuki (female lead) and Kenji’s (male lead) avatars in this large social networking realm in the movie called OZ. I know, I know this is a long overdue post considering this is probably one of my most-anticipated gadgets since I got the LX3. But finally I am able to find time to write about it.
For those who don’t know, this is the upcoming Panasonic Lumix LX5, the successor to the popular Lumix LX3 which I currently own. It looks pretty much the same as the LX3 and I find it nice that they’ve decided to stick to the form factor that made them popular. Last thing I would have wanted to see is it growing a few more millimeters in thickness or width causing it not to fit most of my pants pockets. Continue Reading

My cousin and his girlfriend came over for a couple of weeks, the last week having been spent in our house. To hit two birds with one stone, I decided to take my annual vacation around this time so as to be there to take them around as well. They did a relatively good amount of shopping but their main targets were really the stuff that they had trouble getting back in Guam which are manga and anime-related merchandise, certain clothing brands and bargain buys. Saw an image from Engadget, found it’s high resolution version in deviantart, and converted into my wallpaper.

Finally managed to bring my DSLR to the office and found time to take a couple of shots of SIC Dark Kiva. Not a lot of poses since I can hardly find any window to set up the lights and such so the poses were quite limited since my time was also limited.

This is Dark Kiva holding that grand sword from the series which Kiva Emperor Form could hardly wield without the help of Tatsulot to contain the sword’s power. Dark Kiva, however, had no trouble swinging this thing around. The material for the sword is pretty neat. The edges and the filigree are painted in silver and the stabbing top of the sword is in gold while the material underneath is in clear plastic giving off that crystal effect. It’s a magnificent sword. I thought Hyper Kabuto’s sword was already awesome but this one takes the cake for me. Continue Reading

Oh my goodness, it feels like it’s been ages since I last visited this place and posted something. Things have been picking up at the office lately that I couldn’t find time to write up something for the site during the weekdays which is both frustrating and sad.
I remember having mentioned before (if I actually did) that Nendoroid Megurine Luka has arrived at my desk.

Now isn’t that face absolutely cute. Currently, she’s on display at my office desk along with Nendoroid Drossel. I switched her to this face because one, I love it, and two, it matches Drossel’s eyes.

So here’s a shot of the GFFN Full Armor Gundam with everything that comes inside the box! This is going to be such a gorgeous action figure with so much stuff coming along with it. Of course, I’ve already shown how much of a weapon powerhouse this mobile suit is. But at the same time, it is so Universal Century instead of the alternate timelines where the cram powerful beam weapons into a single mobile suit, this one adds firepower the way one can or should: stock up on arms!
I see three beam gatling guns, two bazookas, two shields, the rocket packs, thrusters and what appears to be beam handguns. No beam rifle? Continue Reading
