Gashapon + WonFes

One Piece Strong World Gashapon

My cousin and his girlfriend came over for a couple of weeks, the last week having been spent in our house. To hit two birds with one stone, I decided to take my annual vacation around this time so as to be there to take them around as well. They did a relatively good amount of shopping but their main targets were really the stuff that they had trouble getting back in Guam which are manga and anime-related merchandise, certain clothing brands and bargain buys.

Now you’re probably wondering what the point was for having this shot of so many One Piece cellphone charms on this post. Thing is, my cousin is a big fan of One Piece, specifically Luffy. In his neverending quest to buy Luffy merch, he ended up collecting more than just Luffy cellphone charms from the gashapon machines found in the malls we visited. Of course, I assisted him in his quest only to fail to get Luffy’s other Strong World costume. In the process, we ended up getting the rest of the crew. Of course he kept Luffy. I got the dupes. :) My goal was Boa Hancock but after two tries from thte Shichibukai gashapon machine, I gave up. I did get Mihawk and Teach though. So that was ok. My favorite in this set was the casual version of Chopper. I also managed to get a casual version of Brook. But I still want that Boa Hancock charm. I <3 Boa.

Now over the weekend, the toy blogosphere was abuzz with news from the recently-concluded WonFes. But as I had mentioned in my previous posts, I was cutting back on purchases but it seems I cannot let some of these babies pass. For starters, I had already preordered King Kazma from Summer Wars and now that Love Machine was announced during WonFes, I’m definitely getting him as well. I want them duking it out on my desk! Another action figure I cannot let pass is KOS MOS. That has been on a lot of people’s wishlists since God-knew-when. Now that they’ve finally announced it, we’re definitely keeping our eyes peeled for the PO to open up.

As for Nendoroids, there appears to be quite a lot coming out. It’s like as if GSC and Max Factory have been keeping mum for the past several months only to release this deluge of announcements in this WonFes. I don’t think there was as much that came out during the previous WonFes compared to what announced this summer.

Nendoroid Miku HMO ver.

That HMO Miku is quite tempting. Different hair design and that facial expression is just absolutely adorable. For the K-On puchi Nendoroids, if they’re coming in a 12-pc box, then I’ll get them. If not, then I’ll pass.

So who else is weeping from the expected walletrape that GSC will do to their funds in the next several months? I’m sure my friend Coffeebugg is holding tight to his money because of that gorgeous doll that he’s eyeing that’s going to drain his resources significantly.

I, on the other hand, is wondering where else I can get that P.O.P. Boa Hancock figurine. I want her!!! Although I’m also anticipating a gorgeous figurine this August: Oboro Muramasa Momohime. :3
