This is probably one of the sexiest Zeta mods I have ever seen. I do love hexagonal panel lines and this one has quite a number of them.
This is basically the Amuro-custom Zeta Gundam that was recently released which is basically the MG Zeta ver. 2.0 with a different plastic color scheme (pink to be exact). The guy who made this model kit is called rec.rec.reckless. I’m not sure if he’s the same guy who owns Texas Factory or he’s an associate of the guy who owns Texas Factory.
Now this Zeta mod looks nothing like the awesome Zeta mod that Danny Choo posted up way back then where the Waverider mode was completely disabled so that it could have all these panels and hydraulics and whatnot sticking out to make it look fierce and awesome. This does look like the waverider mode is disabled. But the difference between this one and the original Unit 3 is that the shield and the beam rifle appears to have been integrated.
It looks very sleek but it does make the Strike Zeta look a lot meeker than the Zeta version with the shield and beam rifle apart. Now if he made this into a mega-beam-rifle-turned-shield-turned-buster-sword-ala-Astray Blue Frame, then that would have made it look meaner than its other Zeta mod counterparts.
Nevertheless, this work looks very clean and really awesome. I just hope he showed how he went about building this baby in his blog.
