- Revoltech No. 062 Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Saw this picture at Marvin’s blog. I’ve always loved the Gurren Lagann anime series and I do love the Revoltech line as well. You could tell from my previous post that I’m in the process of collecting all TTGL-related Revoltech action figures: yes, including Yoko’s Fraulein action figure.
I was able to snag some nice merchandise pics but these aren’t the final product pictures yet as you’ll see later but at least you can pretty much determine how awesome this action figure is going to look.
I can still remember how awesome the series was from the first episode to the last. Each episode was mind-blowing in everything that is super robot. And the spirit of its characters just grips me and energizes me every time I watched it. When you get to point where you think TTGL can’t go beyond how awesome an episode already was, the next one proves you wrong and then blows your mind.
For those who haven’t watched the series, the next series of paragraphs might be spoilers for you.
Episode 27 was when this hulking powerhouse finally appeared. It happened when the third form, Chouginga Gurren Lagann, gattai’d with the entire crew of the Dai Gurren Brigade who now had their own individual Laganns that gave birth to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. This unit was so big that it actually stood on top of a galaxy where it duked it out with the Anti-Spiral. It sported hissatsu from the different pilots that were inside TTGL as well as housed a bigass version of Lord Genome’s Lazengann.
Now let’s get to the nice part: the merchandise pics. Note that these are still preproduction pictures as you’ll notice from some chipped paint and different colored plastic underneath the paint. But if this is how awesome it’s going to look, I can’t wait to get my hands on one.

- Awesome.

- TTGL’s Giga Drill. Notice that Lazengann’s head is no longer in its torso. This is already past the part where Lazengann does Spiral Overload and transforms the enemy’s energy beam into Spiral Energy in the form of a fucktasticly large drill.

- This is right after TTGL absorbing the energy c/o Lord Genome’s sacrifice and then it proceeds to duke it out with the Anti-Spiral, regenerating its Giga Drill every time they lock fists/drills.

- Some chipping on the paint. Goes to show that this isn’t the final product. But that Lazengann head looks awesome!

- The torso WITHOUT the Lazengann head. This is after TTGL absorbs that large drill of Spiral Energy. Awesome ensues.

- Nicely painted drill. I just wish they provided two drills for this action figure. TTGL charged into the fray with both arms transformed into Giga Drills.

- The drill with some effects added to it.

- The entire box content. Comes with a stand, the Giga Drill, the effects on the Giga Drill, the additional flames, the Lazengann torso, and two pairs of additional hands. I’m assuming those two fists are hands that can hold weapons so that the TTGL can borrow the two katanas from the Enki Revoltech. Maybe it can also borrow Fraulein Yoko’s sniper rifle!

Box contents up close. Notice that blue part on the flames? Of course it's not gonna look like that when you buy this Revoltech. Goes to show that it's still a painted prototype. I just really, really wish that this Revoltech will use the same quality of revolver joints as the EVA-01 Type F Revoltech action figure. The ones that came with the Gurren Lagann were weak and looked like they could easily break from too much movement.
So there you go. That’s a small preview review of sorts. Hopefully, I can show you more when I actually get my grubby mitts on one of my own.

looks like it's gonna be bigger than the eva01-f
Oddly enough, it's priced the same as the regular Revoltechs. But then it doesn't really has many addons as the Laevatein. It's most likely the same size as the EVA Type F. I made my EVA Type F stand up to its full height and the stand comes to around the same height as in the picture of the TTGL beside the stand.
hey Mark thanks for the pimping. ^^ about the Laevatein, the box might be bigger than the other revoltech boxes, but the figure is definitely shorter than the EVA type F. ^^
"good thing i was able to reserve one from a store, hope to score an enki though on my trip there in Manila...great post by the way winter..."
