Upcoming: Alter Goto Matabei

Posted on 03 December 2010 by Mark

I’ve talked about Hyakka Ryouran figures in the recent past and now there’s another one coming out and I think even if this one’s a mail order exclusive, it’s actually a worthwhile exclusive to get. As gorgeous as Yagyu Jubei is, this baby’s got a juicier rack and more beautiful legs. The character I’m talking about is the silent companion of Yukimura Sanada: Goto Matabei. She’s all meek but still all woman.

Alter Goto Matabei

This woman has no idea how much skin she’s showing. But the sculpt for this figurine is just so gorgeous that it’s difficult to let this one pass. The figurine is a mail order exclusive so if you want to own this figurine, you would need to contact your third party buyers to get this gorgeous piece for you.

Hyakka Ryouran Figurines

Posted on 15 November 2010 by Mark

When I first saw the Yagyu Jyubei figurine by Alter for the Hyakka Ryoran series, I had told myself that I would get that figurine above anything else. But I guess over the timespan between then and now, other things got me preoccupied as well as my wallet. But my liking for the sculpt of the figurine has not diminished.

Back then, I have not yet been able to watch the series so I was liking it more for the lineart that came with the announcement of the figurine as well as sculpt of the figurine itself. But after watching some episodes from the series, I am definitely planning out how to get all three figurines (I said three because the fourth one is a mail-order exclusive plus the character’s too young for my taste).

There are three Hyakka Ryoran figurines that I would love to own which were all made by Alter. The first one is of course Yagyu Jubei.

Alter Yagyu Jubei

The sculpt and color of this figurine just looks so topnotch and I think a lot of those who have already acquired this figurine attest to the quality that Alter put into making this figurine. I am absolutely loving the thighs on this sculpt as attested by another figurine acquisition I had made recently. The ropes are a nice touch and I am definitely loving this particularl figurine. I think this is the next one I’ll get once my P.O.P. Boa Hancock arrives. :D

Okami Ryoko

Posted on 08 November 2010 by Mark

I usually don’t pick up figurines like these but this one has a nice face and appears to have a nice sculpt as well. Let alone the fact that the legs look nice also.

Okami Ryoko

This is Okami Ryoko from Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakamatachi. Basically she’s the leader of the group called the Otogi Bank. Haven’t really seen the actual show but this figurine has gotten me interested in the series (EDIT: I picked up the 12-ep series from Coffeebugg).

Oboro Muramasa Momohime

Oboro Muramasa Momohime

I finally got her. I’ve been wanting to own this figurine ever since I saw her master mold in the hobby sites and now she’s finally standing on my office desk and I absolutely love it!

This is 1/8 Scale Oboro Mumaramasa Momohime by Alter and she is just absolutely gorgeous. There is but one other figurine that I would want to own aside from this and it is the two versions of Yabyu Jubei also from Alter.

I’ll let my shots speak of how beautiful this figurine is. Continue Reading

Random Photo: Tomorrow, The World

Posted on 08 January 2010 by Mark

Tomorrow, The World!

Was shooting Nendoroids for most of the week so I decided to close the week with a photo of a figurine instead. This is a photo of my 1/8 scale Kyouka Midarezaki. Hopefully, I’m improving on the color front. I had a penchant for using lomo or old photo effects on most of my photos in the past (although I still use them to this day) but now, I’ve started working on improving my post-processing by working on the white balance and contrast of my photos. A lot of my friends who take photography as a liiiiittle bit more than just a hobby, they tend to use Lightroom more often but I’ve always liked using Photoshop. Continue Reading

1/8 Kyouka Midarezaki Arrives!

Posted on 07 December 2009 by Mark

Kyouka Arrives

Coffeebugg got a notice from the post office near our building that a package had arrived. He went off to pick it up earlier this afternoon then dropped it off at my desk.

Kyouka Unpacked

As figma Drossel looked on, I removed the item inside the package that I had been waiting to acquire for the longest time. Now I know a lot of people got theirs many moons ago. I only managed to set aside cash to get one recently and thankfully there was a trusted eBay seller who was still selling this baby so I willingly parted with a good amount of money to have this shipped over to the Philippines. Alter Chouko Sennin Haruka: Sennin Narika

Posted on 19 March 2009 by Mark

Sennin Narika

UPDATE: Click on this link to view more pictures of Sennin Narika courtesy of Hobby Stock blog.

This is quite a mecha musume fix for me and it’s definitely in my wishlist. It’s a mechafied version of Sennin Narika from Chouko Sennin Haruka and it’s something Coffeebugg and I are already considering for pre-order. We’re waiting for it to show up in Play-Asia. This 1/8 PVC figurine is done by Alter and appears to clock in at around 8,000+ yen. Definitely a worthy purchase. The one that wins me over are the mecha details and the cute and very revealing pantsu. The detail on the figurine looks awesome but of course, it may vary once it comes out in production.

So are you willing to dole out cash for this one? Alter’s been releasing quite a number of winners lately and this one doesn’t fall short from the pack of top quality figurines. Click on the image to see the rest of the gallery at Amiami.com. ^_^

Yomako Sensei

Posted on 23 October 2008 by Mark

Felt that this place was missing Yoko so here’s something to refresh your memory of our beloved sniper. This is Alter’s Yomako Sensei in 1/8 PVC goodness. I like how the skirt, her oppai and the face turned out. Definitely better than hamster-face Yoko of Revoltech fame. Ugh, that one was quite the disappointment. I’m praying to the gods that be that Figma would release a Figma Yoko and trump Revoltech’s Fraulein Yoko.

Anyhoo, selling price for this gorgeous figurine is 6,090 yen and will be out February of 2009. Thanks to coffeebugg for the heads up on this gorgeous figurine.

Androids are HOT

Posted on 09 October 2008 by Mark

Yes they are. Especially this one. She’s Holon, an android assistant from Shirow Masamune’s future suspense series, Real Drive. Dunno what the whole series is about but this android definitely scores a lot of points on the hotness department. First of all, she has a ginormous/generous pair of oppai for a robot, awesome looks, that pair of sexy librarian glasss, the exceedingly tight skirts, curvaceous thighs and every soft curve you expect to see in a voluptuous woman. *wipes nosebleed* Click the image to get better angles of her. Megahouse’s sculptors definitely did a fine job of making this figurine’s curves realistic. She’s like your fantasy teacher who’s got the hots for you Love-Hina-style.

The Real Drive series features cute student Minamo Aoi…errrr…nosebleeding here so I’ll let Wikipedia do the talking:

Real Drive is set in 2061 AD, fifty years after the development of the Network society. The new infrastructure was to create a utopia where people could directly connect at the level of consciousness. But new social problems, such as personal data leaks and disinformation surface. People still must rely heavily on the Network and are unable to abandon it.

In due course, a new Network realm with more effective security measures was developed. This was called Meta Real Network, nicknamed “The Metal.”

The Metal holds personal memory data in bubble shells. These are supposedly protected virtual online organic cyber-enclaves. The Metal eventually pervades the everyday lives of people.

People gradually learned to release and explore their instincts within the environment of the Metal. The unleashed instincts cause some individual’s consciousness to drown in the sea of information and to be exposed to the pressures of desire.

Meanwhile, norms and regulations continue to bind their real world lives. Friction between the two worlds manifests as troublesome aberrations.

Cyber Divers are experts who investigate and decipher these aberrations in the Metal.

Megahouse released a Minamo Aoi figurine as well as she definitely doesn’t lack in the curves, oppai and thighs department either.

From Wikipedia:

An intern for hired by Masamichi Haru and Sister of Souta Aoi. Originally hired to replace Holon during a leave for maintenance, she became a permanent employee after she helped guide Masamichi back from a dive gone wrong. Unlike the other humans and some animals in the story, she does not possess a Cyberbrain augmentation, and requires electronic accessories to access The Metal.

Both figurines are to be released late January 2009 and are worth 5,800 yen each. Info from HobbySearch. As always, click the image to get to the gallery.

Re-Release: Rangiku Matsumoto

Posted on 09 October 2008 by Mark

Yes! Oppai goodness! And remember my fixation over chicks with big swords? (Ehhhhh?! That didn’t sound right…)

Anyhoo, this figurine of Rangiku Matsumoto by Megahouse was already released several moons ago and now, it appears that the figure-collecting  community lacked some oppai goodness down Shinigami street so they have heeded the calls of despair from the cleavage-depraved and re-issued this wonderful 1/8 PVC figurine. The release is slate for January of 2009 and is worth 4,000 yen.

Info from HobbySearch. Click on the image to look at the gallery.
