Oboro Muramasa Momohime by Alter

Posted on 20 March 2010 by Mark

After staying away from figurines for quite some time (last one having been Kyouka Midarezaki), I am once again drawn towards one and this time, I want it because of how it looks. I am not even familiar with the series that this figurine is connected to. I just want it because she looks cute, she wields a sword and the colors are nicely done. :)

This is Oboro Muramasa Momohime by Alter.

GSC/Max Factory Disappoints – Amiami delivers! *UPDATED*

Posted on 22 January 2010 by Mark

I am writing this update as of today, Jan. 25, upon receipt of an e-mail from Amiami.com that they will provide the replacement parts within this week or next week. Amiami.com definitely knows customer service.

So my friends and I got a unified shipment from Amiami.com of a mix of figma and Nendoroid merchandise. Two of us ordered a figma Cute, two of them ordered a Nendoroid Raspberyl and all three of us ordered a Nendoroid Drossel.

figma Cute is the most expensive figma I have ever purchased so you can just imagine my excitement when it finally arrived…

Only to be disappointed by a missing part.

Missing Parts

These photos were supposedly for an initial opening photo post but turned out to be a rant post thanks to bad packaging people in Goodsmile Company.

Missing Parts

Colors and parts are quite visible through the protective plastic and just by the initial photos inside the box alone, you could already see that the right wrist part for figma Cute was missing.

Missing Parts

Taking it out of the box for closer inspection, the fact that something’s missing is quite apparent. It would have been fine if I had lost the part myself but this is fresh out of the box and something was already missing! Clearly, whoever packed up my figma Cute, forgot to include that extra piece in the wrist. This is really disappointing considering that this isn’t the first time I encountered a defective item from Goodsmile Company/Max Factory. Is GSC/Max Factory earning so much now that they’re beginning to compromise the quality of their merchandise for the sake of getting more sales?

And this isn’t the only one that has problems. One of the Nendoroid Raspberyls in the package was missing a base. How the hell do you miss something like that when you’re packing Nendoroids?

For an item this expensive, I demand no less than an actual replacement. Special edition items are supposed to be even less likely to have defects considering the lot is not as large as the regular releases so to find something like these being rolled out of GSC’s/Max Factory’s warehouse is very disappointing.

Deformover Alteisen Nacht

Posted on 18 November 2009 by Mark

I’ve played a good number of Super Robot Taisen/Super Robot Wars games back when I was still in college and I’ve always loved the mecha designs for the original robots featured in the game. One of my favorites was the Alteisen/Alteisen Riese design. It’s red, mean-looking and bulky. But another version I liked was the Alteisen Nacht which came from the SRW Compact series. It’s pretty much exactly like the Alteisen except for the color which is now blue instead of red, and it wields a katana aside from its main weapons (Revolving Stake, Square Claymore, Heat Horn, etc.). I wanted to get the Deformover version of the Alteisen since I could not be bothered back then to build the 1/100 Alteisen model kit (I could not even complete my two Unicorn Gundams!). But seeing that most of my cashflow was going towards Nendoroids, I could not afford to get the Alteisen.

And now, they’re releasing the Alteisen Nacht for the Deformover series. Like I said earlier, between the Alteisen and Alteisen Nacht, the main differences were the colors and the katana.

What I like about this series of super deformed toys is that they remind me of how the robots/mecha look like in the actual SRW games. Back when I was still part of the Simulation Chamber community, I used to extract and work on game sprites for the community. And all the game sprites are in SD form except for one SRW game where all the game sprites were in their regular form. Not too fond of those, of course.

There’s still that Deformover Alteisen on the shelves of one of the toy stores I frequent in Greenhills. I’m still contemplating whether I should get it or not. If I do, then that would be my first and only SRW-related merchandise.

Hit up the images to go to Amiami.com for more pics of this merchandise. It’s already up for pre-order and will deal 4,850yen worth of damage to your wallet should you decide to get one. Expected release date would be around late February 2010.

Mmmm, Sakurahime

Posted on 31 December 2008 by Mark

This one’s from Creator’s Labo. Doesn’t she just look absolutely delicious? If all wrestlers looked and dressed like her, I’d be watching wrestling all day. She is definitely drool-worthy and she can whoop your ass.

Mmmmm

Mmmmm

Nendoroid Exclusive

Posted on 31 December 2008 by Mark

Currently on a Japanese-character-incapable laptop but boy did I like what I saw when I dropped by Amiami.com today.

This appears to be a PS2 game bundle. Mark (aka Coffeebugg)!!! We need to get this cutie right here!!! I don’t care if I won’t be able to play the game. I just want the Nendoroid that comes with it.

Just click the image if you want to see more images of this cute, mecha-themed toy.

More Kureha Pics

Posted on 18 June 2008 by Mark

I recently blogged about the latest Kureha figurine which was done by President Japan. I got more pics from Amiami.com and it makes me want to buy this figurine even more! I’m sure she would look absolutely gorgeous on my desk! To see is to believe. Here are the photos!

Absolutely gorgeous don’t you think? Would you want to buy this? I’m sure the final released product would not look as flawless as this but if it does, it would definitely be a worthy purchase for any figurine collector. Again, this figurine is done in PVC and is a 1/8 scale figurine. The manufacturers are President Japan.

Blue…Eyes

Posted on 09 May 2008 by Mark

So is her hair. I don’t know who this figurine is or which series, or eroge she comes from. But one thing’s for sure, I like her. I like the look of her eyes but I also like the sculpt of her face and her body. You’d have to see for yourself though. The pics are a bit NSFW so beware the people behind you when you browse Amiami.com.

More Drafty Costumed Ninjas

Posted on 11 April 2008 by Mark

This is Haruka Takamori from Beat Blades Haruka. I’m liking the design of this one and her “literal” eyes look like she’s either very sleepy or she just doesn’t give a shit.  The design looks really nice. Would you buy it? Note that the promo pictures may significantly differ in quality with the actual release.

I’m noticing that we’re getting more ninjas with drafty outfits. Not that I’m complaining. This world could use more of these ninja-types. It’s going to be quite a bloodletting spree. ^_^;;

Another Blood

Posted on 19 March 2008 by Mark

This figure is from Kishin Hisho Demonbane. It’s that mecha with green energy hair, akimbo pistols and large knees. This one is supposed to be like the AI or activation loli for the red robot in that series. Al Azif is the AI for Demonbane. What I do like a lot about this figure is her…thighs. o_o Figure is made by Nitroplus and the images are from Amiami.com.
