I am aware that there are a good number of people who have followed Gundam Unicorn are quite fond of the ReZel design. It looks like Bandai is now finally releasing the Master Grade version of this mech.
Prior to this, the iterations of merchandise for ReZel were the GFFN version, and the HGUC model kit.
Note that the press release doesn’t appear to indicate that this is a ver. Ka box. A lot of people tend to love adding ver. Ka to a kit just because it was designed by Hajime Katoki. (points at the Gundam Deathscythe ver. EW (Early Wing))

Finally managed to bring my DSLR to the office and found time to take a couple of shots of SIC Dark Kiva. Not a lot of poses since I can hardly find any window to set up the lights and such so the poses were quite limited since my time was also limited.

This is Dark Kiva holding that grand sword from the series which Kiva Emperor Form could hardly wield without the help of Tatsulot to contain the sword’s power. Dark Kiva, however, had no trouble swinging this thing around. The material for the sword is pretty neat. The edges and the filigree are painted in silver and the stabbing top of the sword is in gold while the material underneath is in clear plastic giving off that crystal effect. It’s a magnificent sword. I thought Hyper Kabuto’s sword was already awesome but this one takes the cake for me. Continue Reading

Found time to bring my DSLR to work and take shots of my two newest SICs. I’m actually quite fond of Gatack so that’s probably why I have more shots of him here. But then, Dark Kabuto is pretty much exactly like Kabuto in form and only differs in color, plus he’s…well…dark, so he’s kind of hard to shoot on my desk. But the LED lamps helped create a really nice lighting effect.
What I really love about SICs is that with the proper lighting and poses, they look…real.
At least that’s how I see it. You be the judge.

I love those yellow eyes and their effect on a darker Kabuto. Continue Reading

Picked up my second SIC acquisition at Wasabi Toys this past weekend. My first SIC was Kamen Rider Kabuto which I believed was one of the best Kamen Rider designs ever made. When Bandai announced that they were releasing Kamen Rider Gatack as an SIC, I was ecstatic. When they added the fact that Dark Kabuto is included in the package, I was all the more excited to get it! My mind was reeling when they announced that the Cast-On armor was also included as well as interchangeable parts for a ZECT Trooper. It was Christmas in summer! Continue Reading

So here’s a shot of the GFFN Full Armor Gundam with everything that comes inside the box! This is going to be such a gorgeous action figure with so much stuff coming along with it. Of course, I’ve already shown how much of a weapon powerhouse this mobile suit is. But at the same time, it is so Universal Century instead of the alternate timelines where the cram powerful beam weapons into a single mobile suit, this one adds firepower the way one can or should: stock up on arms!
I see three beam gatling guns, two bazookas, two shields, the rocket packs, thrusters and what appears to be beam handguns. No beam rifle? Continue Reading

Aside from the goosebump-inducing developments in One Piece, the news I’m getting from stuff pre-ordered and upcoming is just staggering! There’s so much to talk about that I was temped to break them up into different posts but I decided to just lump them all together into a single post and leave you guys to ogling them.

Amiami.com finally has merchandise pics of SIC Kamen Rider Ixa and Dark Kiva. But looking at the English site for Amiami, it appears that you would not be able to preorder this through the site. But the odd thing is that I don’t recall this item coming out for preorder in the English site although I did see it in the Japanese site. Japan-exclusive item? Probably. Either way, I’m getting my grubby hands on them.

Some updated scans of the upcoming SIC release for Kamen Rider Ixa and Dark Kiva. I had mentioned in a previous article that it looks like there is a transformation mechanism for Rising Ixa. I was wrong. The face opens up but that’s it. It has been quite some time since I last finished watching Kamen Rider Kiva so I think the face-open transformation is for when Kamen Rider Ixa is going to execute his hissatsu. Nevertheless, that does not make this SIC release any less magnificent. Two action figures in a single box: one for the force of good, driven by self-righteousness; the other for the force of evil, yet driven by his love for his son.

Although Ixa looks very robotic compared to the very organic-looking Kamen Rider Kiva, I am absolutely loving the white, blue and gold color scheme and the knight theme for this suit. Continue Reading

So finally, N.P.GPM has released his version of the Master Grade kit V Gundam ver. Ka by Bandai! And by George, it is one gorgeous piece of work. I told my friend Coffeebugg, who is an avid V Gundam fan, that this particular version looks like the illustration jumped out of the boxart and turned 3D.
So without further ado, here’s his take on the MG V-Gundam ver. Ka

Checked out some of my favorite modders and saw some recent updates. Two have released new mods, complete with photos, while one has a teaser on a Master Grade that a lot of fans have been asking Bandai to manufacture for decades.

This is Keita’s latest masterpiece, a modded version of the Master Grade GN-X from Gundam 00. In his site, he details the changes he made on the original model kit. The difference between this and the original release is just staggering. He never fails to amaze me with the amount of detail he is able to apply on these model kits to further enhance them. I just wish he had included shots of the GN-X with the GN Drive lit up.
