SRW Hotnews announced yesterday that the 1/100 EOtech R-1 model kit is already on sale. Along with it was a link for the merchandise pics. I waited till Amiami.com had the pics up in their site because it’s easier to view the pictures there, IMO.

Interesting to note is that when we saw merchandise pics of the 1/100 Wildwurger and the 1/100 Alteisen, there was one picture that showed it with glowing eyes. The R-1 however doesn’t have that merch-pics-wise. It doesn’t even show the green chrome-plated fists that are supposed to be for the T-Link Knuckle attack that the R-1 has.

So could it possibly be that the much-anticipated EOtech R-1 does not have glowing eyes? Shame if that would be the case. Unless the reason for this is they had to leave out the battery unit plans because they plan to have a gattai function on the R-1 because of possible release plans for R-2 Powered and R-3 Powered. Only time will tell…

A good chap named Climax F. put up a very nice photo review of the SCM RX-78-2 and Zaku II on his site. And by George do these action figures look very tempting to buy! I want to get them, and panel line them and call them Amuro…

Anyhoo, stumbled upon this set of photos at Ngee Khiong’s blog and if you want to see more of these toys in action (poses), just click on the link I provided.

Goes to contact his local suppliers if they’ll be importing these babies.

Banpresto Super Creative Model

Posted on 22 August 2008 by Mark

Makes me wish Revoltech had licensed Gundam merchandise.

Makes me wish Revoltech had licensed Gundam merchandise.

Ran into this SCM thing in GA Graphic and I noticed Ngee Khiong talking about it as well. It’s Banpresto’s Super Creative Model. It looks like one of the up and coming action figures to be released is the GM of Gundam One Year War fame. The poses look really nice and it definitely shows better articulation that the MSiA line. Could this series give MSiA a run for its money? Only time can tell.

More 1:100 Alteisen pics

Posted on 14 November 2007 by Mark

Update: More official images from Amiami.com.

The eyes light up! See more at Ngee Khiong’s blog. This model kit is slowly becoming more and more attractive to me. It’s definitely on the list. Now, whether I’ll buy this before the two MG Unicorns, I’m not really sure…

But I would definitely want to own this model kit and USB-power it. Heheheh! If I were to build this kit, I’m going to make the red parts glossy and perhaps use a mildly darker shade of red. The other parts will be done in the same color as the plastic but in matte paint.

Funny though is the fact that Kotobukiya can make a light-up Alty but Bandai can’t make a light-up Gundam Unicorn.

Kotobukiya: 1/100 Alteisen

Posted on 09 November 2007 by Mark

I just recently got email from Pats, the owner of Wasabi Toys and he told me that the 1/100 Alteisen model kit by Kotobukiya will be arriving soon (hopefully within this month) and it is priced at less that Php3,500. Quite a good buy if you ask me and I’ll bet this one will be an awesome addition to anyone’s model kit collection. Hopefully, I get to weed out some funds for this model kit before I start saving up for the two Gundam Unicorns I plan to buy this December.

Danny's Goodies

Posted on 14 August 2007 by Mark

Well, not exactly his goodies but people who visit his site always look forward to his coverage of different hobby events in Japan, the latest of which is Wonder Festival 2007 Summer ed. Obviously, I was spending more time on the mecha shots although this one caught my eye:

This is Needa Shuetlitch. Nice name. Nice face construct. AWESOME sniper rifle. And yes, yes, on to the mecha.

Could this be an upcoming transforming model kit from Kotobukiya to be paired with Dygenguar/Daizengar? Or just a resin kit?

1/100 Alteisen…so sexy.

Of course, there’s the MG #100 Turn A Gundam. I’ve yet to watch the series so that I’d understand why there’s an additional part that changes a chest part from blue to white.

Diebuster’s Dix Neuf. I really love how this feller looks like a Japanese high school gang leader waving around a massive nail bat.

Big O

Courage! Genesic Gaogaigar!

All the photos came from Danny’s blog. You can see the rest of his coverage here

Daigenguar

Posted on 31 May 2007 by Mark

Short for Dynamic Guardian General, this is Zengar Zombolt’s unit in Super Robot Wars. This is a pretty neat DGG with its katana that transforms into a Zankantou. I think the direct translation of zankantou is ship-cleaving sword. It’s also an awesome model kit. The picture above is the 1:144 Daigenguar by Kotobukiya. I have a couple of friends who have purchased this already and they say that the quality of the model kit and the color separation of the plastic is topnotch meaning you can snapbuild this thing and it can still make an SRW fan cream his pants. ToHeart, Grungust and Getter-1

Posted on 23 May 2007 by Mark

My head hurts. Seriously. It’s probably the cold temperatures here at the office and the jitters over my upcoming business trip. Gah. I just hope I don’t get sick. I just came form a bad case of colds and cough.

I digress.

I had another visit to Amiami and three things caught my eye. The first one is this nice figurine from ToHeart2. Now I’m not sure how much you guys are into figurines lying down but this would have been awesome on my office desk…before someone stole her away. For those who don’t know, ToHeart is an eroge-turned-anime and was produced by Aquaplus. The figurine is done by WAVE. As always, click the image above to see the rest of the gallery at Amiami. This appears to be a September release.

The next two are related because they’re both mecha and they’re done by the same studio:

These are the transformable Grungust from Super Robot Wars Original Generation and transformable Getter Robo. I recall having written about the Grungust in a previous post but the images were all prototypes that time with no color. These transformable action figures are from Studio Halfeye. I think they’re also the same studio that brought us the transformable Gunbuster action figure. Now I’m not really sure if this Getter is the OVA version since I’m seeing the cloak/tattered cape that it’s known for but it looks awesome nonetheless. Both of them appear to be June releases.

Keels over from head pain.
