I’m back to using a bare and simple wallpaper mainly because I stumbled on a really cute fanart from an artist named ~ryo-hakkai in deviantart in my quest to find Summer Wars wallpaper (oh I absolutely LOVE that movie and cannot stop watching it over and over again). Saw an image from Engadget, found it’s high resolution version in deviantart, and converted into my wallpaper.

Both shots taken at my office desk. First shot has that Batman-overlooking-Gotham inspiration.  She’s holding the beam saber from a GFF Blue Destiny Gundam.

I had a very restful weekend. I hardly did anything on that weekend except stay online, watch movies on my laptop and do some reading. It was a good weekend spent on resting and clearing my mind to be ready for the things that may come my way this week.

I’ve been drooling over this bag for some time now. It’s the camera bag designed and exclusively available at deviantArt. It costs around $75 which would come at around Php3,500 without shipping.

I would really love to own one of these. It would make an awesome bag for storing cameras AND small figurines when you’re walking around the city and want to shoot your stuff with the places you’re seeing or the food that you’re eating. Since the compartments are customizable and are designed to secure your expensive lenses, then you can rest assured that they can also safely store your most prized mini-figs like your Nendoroids (which I primarily collect).

I can only wish that someone would be buy me this. ^_^

I was actually planning on my first blog entry for 2010 to be about a new toy but since my next shipment won’t be till around next week, I decided to do something instead: shoot toys with the DSLR.

Most of my shots on the latter half of the year had been using my Lumix LX3. Today, I brough my DSLR to the office desk to shoot two of my most recent Nendoroids: Sebastian Michaelis and Saber Lily.

The full sized pics are posted in my deviantart account which has not seen any updates for quite some time now. So to hit two birds with one stone, I used this small shoot to update both places.

As I mentioned in a previous blog entry, the reason I purchased Sebastian Michaelis was due to the fact that I name all my gadgets with butler names and I felt that it was appropriate that I owned a butler Nendoroid to oversee the goings-on in my office desk.

With Saber Lily, she’s just absolutely adorable and the detail on her outfit is just amazing, it was too hard to pass her up. Plus, she comes with two swords! How awesome is that?! *receives blank stare from reader* Ok, fine, you don’t like swords.

Incoming this month would be Nendoroid Drossel, figma Cute and SIC Kamen Rider Kabuto. There are others that have been delayed that should be arriving this month as well. We’ll see when they turn up.

Sooooooooo yeah. It’s been quite some time since I last uploaded stuff into my hardly-used Deviantart account. But these past couple of weeks have brought back the fun in shooting and post-processing photographs that I’m loading shots in dA too, instead of just in Facebook and Flickr. Well, that also simply means that if you’ve seen my Flickr page or my Facebook albums, you’re not missing much.

I just find it interesting that I haven’t been this eager to share my work since…well, back in grade school. Hope it lasts. If not, then that’s one more account to gather dust when the magic disappears.

But does this mean that I’ll shoot more and more “normal” photos and less and less of toys? Hell no. It’s just raining like crazy outside so it’s tough to take out the toys and shoot in natural light. But damn, when that Puchi Nendoroid Vocaloid set comes out, every place I go would have a shot of those babies in it. That’s fo sho.

Learned how to do this in very nice-looking manner from Manicho’s tutorial about Web 2.0-ish graphics. I am already using a smaller button version of this in my blog, right above my picture.

I’ve been poking around with the parts of the blog that has graphics that I could customize (i.e. buttons, banner, blog links). The PaPB link list has also been updated with Web 2.0-ish graphics. And of course, my banner, now with Gurren Lagann lurve, speech balloons from Blambot.com and text art by yours truly.

As I’ve said before, I’ve always been a big fan of Tricia Gosingtian’s work in photography. I always drop by to see what new stuff she’s got up in her Deviantart page. And every time I go in, her work continues to amaze me. And she gets to produce such awesome work despite being limited to lenses especially early on which is quite inspiring.

Heee~! Just a promo/blog pimping I’ve been meaning to do for quite some time already.

Can’t sleep that’s why this post was this late in the evening (or early in the morning, whichever fits your fancy). The eggs were funny though, don’t you think? I’ll give them a try sometime. Hope Capcom Puzzle World finishes downloading soon though.
