figma BRS + Random Shots

Posted on 27 October 2010 by Mark

The office is currently abuzz with preparations for Halloween. On Friday, kids in costumes will be walking around to get free candy. My staff are busy preparing decorations for the Plants vs Zombies theme that our area will be decorated with. This is also usually the time I break out the halloween-related toys that I have stashed in my office.

Kyoukas + Domo-kun

BRS + Gloomy

Queen Melissa + Sebastian

Unlike last year where I had all my Nendoroids out on display, this year, I’ve decided to just have these few toys out. I also have all my SIC action figures and a couple of figmas out as well as Psycho Gundam Mk. I but that’s pretty much it for this year. It would have been a pain bringing out ALL the toys from their ziploc bags and then putting them back in after Halloween. Continue Reading

Black Rock Shooter Merch

Black Rock Shooter Merch

Last night, a good friend of mine dropped by Coffeebugg’s house for some paella and in turn, was able to pick up my BRS stuff from his house and then drop them off at my office which relatively close by. This was the third character that I purchased for both the Nendoroid and figma versions. The first one was obviously Miku Hatsune. The second one was Fireball Drossel. Black Rock Shooter is my third. Would I pass up on figma KOS MOS? Nope.

Posted on 12 October 2010 by Mark

Really. I wouldn’t. When this figma showed up on the preorders, everyone was complaining that it was so bloody expensive when prior to the price tag announcement, everyone was saying “OMFG, I will definitely get this figma! FINALLY! This figma has always been in my wishlist!” figma KOS MOS was never on my wishlist. The figma design I was wishing for was the seifuku version of figma BRS with a traditional katana in black. But everyone else said “meh, too many seifuku figmas. We’d rather see KOS MOS.”

So finally, KOS MOS shows up and all you’re going to complain about is the fucking price?! The damn thing costs around the same price as a regular Nendoroid for fuck’s sake.

*woosah*

figma KOS MOS

Anyways, I am not passing up on figma KOS MOS. She will be standing right beside my gorgeous figma Cute once I get her. I’ve never been a fan of the games where KOS MOS appeared. Probably the only game I played that had KOS MOS in it was that SRW rpg with all the bouncing boobies you can find~! Continue Reading

One Piece Strong World Gashapon

My cousin and his girlfriend came over for a couple of weeks, the last week having been spent in our house. To hit two birds with one stone, I decided to take my annual vacation around this time so as to be there to take them around as well. They did a relatively good amount of shopping but their main targets were really the stuff that they had trouble getting back in Guam which are manga and anime-related merchandise, certain clothing brands and bargain buys. figma BRS Updates via Mikatan

Posted on 24 March 2010 by Mark

Yesterday, we saw Mikatan give us updates on the Nendoroid BRS. Now we see Mikatan’s blog with the figma Black Rock Shooter photos. This is definitely something I wouldn’t mind buying.

Damn, that cannon is huge. Part of me is wishing that the shade of blue used for the flame in her left eye was the also used for the Nendoroid version. The shade of blue for the Nendoroid was a bit too blue for my taste. This shade is more fitting. But I’m getting both anyways. ^_^ Continue Reading

BRS Nendoroid Updates via Mikatan

Posted on 23 March 2010 by Mark

Definitely one of the most anticipated Nendoroid releases of this year, photos of the upcoming Nendoroid Black Rock Shooter show up in Mikatan’s blog. These appear to be what it would look like in production although the actual box for the Nendoroid has yet to be shown.

Nevertheless, we have oodles of pictures to view from Mikatan’s blog including what appears to be some interesting additional items that would make this Nendoroid even more worthwhile to collect. It also makes me think that the box that Nendoroid will be packaged in will be bigger than usual.

This is what she’s supposed to look like in production. What’s interesting to note is that the base is the black and white tile base that has been signature to the BRS franchise. Another interesting thing is that the stand for this Nendoroid looks like the stands you would commonly see in figmas. Continue Reading

Nendoroid Ciel Phantomhive Master Mold?

Posted on 18 March 2010 by Mark

Nendoroid Ciel Phantomhive

Could this be a production version of Ciel Phantomhive from Black Butler (Kuroshitsuji)? Here we see Sebastian Michaelis, the demon butler, with a serving cloth and a tea set. So it would appear that Ciel comes with additional parts for Sebastian! I would definitely want to get this.

This and the other photos in this post were from Mikatan’s post about some minor event where some GSC merchandise were out on display. There also appeared to be production versions of the female EVA pilots as well as these two:

Random Photo: Cute, the Impaler

Cute, the Impaler

Cute ditches the beam saber and picks up a real sword. I think after getting harassed by Drossel, she now plans to get back at her with a sword supplied by Gantz.

Added note:  I would have actually preferred something along the lines of a bastard sword, buster sword or zankantou. But the huge katana from Gantz, I think, does the job quite well too. And knowing the extent to which this sword can stretch, impaling Drossel would be quite easy for Cute as revenge for her humiliation earlier.

So Happeh~

Office Desk Shenanigan Crew

Today turned out to be an awesome start for the week. In my post last week regarding that missing part for figma Cute and my disappointment in GSC’s OBQ checks (Out-of-the-Box Quality checks), we received an email from Phil Nakayasu of Amiami.com.

Hi, Mark.
We will be able to send the missing parts for Raspberyl and Cute this week.
We’ll let you know after the parts has been sent.
Thanks for your patience.

Phil

So I was really happy to find out that Amiami.com will be able to replace that small missing part from my figma Cute. Because of that good news, I decided that it was a good time to take her out of the box.

figma Cute’s outfit is already quite detailed and nicely colored to begin with but I tried out mixing things up with another figma and this is what I came up with:

figma Cute x Drossel

figma Cute x Drossel

figma Cute x Drossel

figma Cute x Drossel

figma Cute x Drossel

So the head is obviously from Cute, as well as the collar and tie piece plus the blade. Everything else was from figma Drossel. Will find time to post better shots of figma Cute in her costume and eventually her “torn outfit” pose.

For now, I’m just glad she’s finally out of the box.
