Friday Eye Candy

Posted on 08 February 2008 by Mark

I’ll keep it short and sweet. One figurine and two action figures. I’ll go into detail on one of them next week. Pictures from Amiami.com. Enjoy~!

Ruka

Posted on 23 November 2007 by Mark

All I know about Ar Tonelico is that it’s a video game made by Banpresto. I’ve never played nor have I seen any of its characters. But this 1/7 scale PVC figurine of Ruka from that game has definitely caught my eye. Danny’s fascination for loli figurines is catching on to me, it seems…if you’d consider this figurine a loli one. Btw, read about this figurine at Marvin’s blog.

What definitely caught my eye was the color combination of the clothing and how cute the face is.

Would you buy one? Personally I’d prefer a castoff-enabled figurine of Aurica or Claire.

Guitar Chick

Posted on 13 September 2007 by Mark

Nope, not exactly a live one. But if you’ve always been a guitar fan and liked Ino from Guilty Gear and been looking for a decent figurine of a chick with a guitar to put on your desk, this baby’s the one for you. This is another work of Shunya Yamashita 3D-fied: Arisa Guitar Girl by Creator’s Labo. You’ll find more pictures at Amiami.com. She comes with a hot red guitar and cast-off skirt. The “high-cut” school uniform top, glasses and ponytails just make her look even sexier. And I’ve always been amazed with the eyes (no, not the “Danny Choo eyes”winking of Shunya Yamashita figurines. They look so real.

If you collect Shunya Yamashita figurines, you might be interested in buying this.

Danny's Goodies

Posted on 14 August 2007 by Mark

Well, not exactly his goodies but people who visit his site always look forward to his coverage of different hobby events in Japan, the latest of which is Wonder Festival 2007 Summer ed. Obviously, I was spending more time on the mecha shots although this one caught my eye:

This is Needa Shuetlitch. Nice name. Nice face construct. AWESOME sniper rifle. And yes, yes, on to the mecha.

Could this be an upcoming transforming model kit from Kotobukiya to be paired with Dygenguar/Daizengar? Or just a resin kit?

1/100 Alteisen…so sexy.

Of course, there’s the MG #100 Turn A Gundam. I’ve yet to watch the series so that I’d understand why there’s an additional part that changes a chest part from blue to white.

Diebuster’s Dix Neuf. I really love how this feller looks like a Japanese high school gang leader waving around a massive nail bat.

Big O

Courage! Genesic Gaogaigar!

All the photos came from Danny’s blog. You can see the rest of his coverage here

Beachsides and Gundams

Posted on 07 August 2007 by Mark

Yesterday, the sun was out and it was a nice afternoon to have a walk by the beach so I decided to drag my colleague along and do some camwhoring along the beach side. I’m liking this picture a lot. I should make a bigger version of it. This has been edited though. I don’t have a UV filter with me.

Hobby Japan will have resin kits of the Gundam Mk-III (Chara Hobby specs, 22,000 yen) and the Knight Gundam, Spy Gundam, and Musha X from Musha Retsuden Zero. (news from Gunota Headlines)

I’m liking this resin kit of the Gundam Mk. III. I hope they make a Master Grade model kit of it someday.

Local Cosplay Scene

Posted on 24 May 2007 by Mark

Since Danny put up some Kipi pics on his blog entry where Kipi was cosplaying as Misa, I remembered someone from our local scene whom I’d consider a lot more kawaii than Kipi herself: Alodia “Edjie” Gosiengfiao. This is her cosplaying as Misa from Death Note. She’s built up quite a name for herself and her photographer is talented lady. You’ll see a good amount of her cosplay pics here. You’ll also see what her photographer is capable of here. So from here on out, when it’s cosplaying in the local scene, expect a significant amount of highlight on Edjie from moi.

And she’s from my alma mater too. :3

Come to think of it, I’ll do an Edjie/Death Note cosplay feature tomorrow. No head ache today. Nosebleed tomorrow, ya?

In other news, Kanu has another revealing figurine in a very compromising maid costume pose. See the rest of the gallery at Amiami. This is a PVC figurine by Orchid Seed in 1/7 scale. Oh yeah, she’s got cast off abilities too.

ToHeart, Grungust and Getter-1

Posted on 23 May 2007 by Mark

My head hurts. Seriously. It’s probably the cold temperatures here at the office and the jitters over my upcoming business trip. Gah. I just hope I don’t get sick. I just came form a bad case of colds and cough.

I digress.

I had another visit to Amiami and three things caught my eye. The first one is this nice figurine from ToHeart2. Now I’m not sure how much you guys are into figurines lying down but this would have been awesome on my office desk…before someone stole her away. For those who don’t know, ToHeart is an eroge-turned-anime and was produced by Aquaplus. The figurine is done by WAVE. As always, click the image above to see the rest of the gallery at Amiami. This appears to be a September release.

The next two are related because they’re both mecha and they’re done by the same studio:

These are the transformable Grungust from Super Robot Wars Original Generation and transformable Getter Robo. I recall having written about the Grungust in a previous post but the images were all prototypes that time with no color. These transformable action figures are from Studio Halfeye. I think they’re also the same studio that brought us the transformable Gunbuster action figure. Now I’m not really sure if this Getter is the OVA version since I’m seeing the cloak/tattered cape that it’s known for but it looks awesome nonetheless. Both of them appear to be June releases.

Keels over from head pain.

Funny Knight Rudy

Posted on 22 May 2007 by Mark

This is one of the figurines that Danny put on highlight in his Shizuoka Hobby Show coverage: Funny Knights: Rudy. It’s designed by Shunya Yamashita, the person who designed Mirei-san who’s raking in figurine sales up until now. I visited the blog link of Shunya in Danny’s blog and found out that not only did he design Mirei and Rudy but apparently he was also the designer of this sexy kung-fu chick:

…and that other girl in a seifuku but missing her skirt, aqua blue panties, sexy glasses, pigtails and a deadly katana. Total nosebleed fest if you collect these figurines, I tell you. Lots of tissue needed.

Kureha

Posted on 17 May 2007 by Mark

This is Kureha. This figurine is made by Max Factory and it was recently featured in Danny’s blog with the head nearly falling off. Well, no more wobbly head with this picture. Perhaps it simply wasn’t assembled properly for the show. This picture can be seen in Amiami.com.

Also in Amiami.com is this upcoming figurine of the chick with a big rifle and big pair of eyes from Guren Ragan. I like the skull pin on her hair. What’s also weird is her scarf. That’s supposed to keep her warm but the rest of her outfit will make her catch a cold in the middle of summer. Daft. But damn those hot leather pants.

Saber in a maid outfit

Posted on 15 May 2007 by Mark

I’m not really a Fate/Stay Night fan but I’m liking this Saber figurine in a maid outfit. Maybe it’s the legs. I mean, this figurine doesn’t have large eyes like Rangiku Matsumoto’s or glaring lace undies like Mirei-san but I’m really finding it sexy. Amiami has a bunch of photos of this figurine in their gallery. Maybe it’s also my current fascination with the color green and blue. The figurine is made by Alter.

For those who live in the Philippines, you can get this figurine from Wasabi Toys. Check out the details here.

There’s also this other figurine that doesn’t have large eyes but is absolutely oh-so-sexeh. This figurine by Yamato is quite popular if memory serves. It’s the accent on the thighs, if you ask me. Pictures in Amiami also. I wonder if Danny’s going to get one of these. It should be interesting to see his blog flooded with pictures of this figurine like he did with Mirei-san.
