Nendoroid Miku Hatsune Get~!

Posted on 13 September 2008 by Mark

Recently got this Nendoroid Miku Hatsune from my good friend Coffeebugg. He ordered a WonFes exclusive Nendoroid Miku and the store mistakenly sent him this one. They said they’re going to send the real WonFes exclusive and he gets to keep the wrong merchandise. Lucky bloke! So being the good man that he is, he gave me this one since he won’t have any use for it anymore given that the WonFes version had seven faces while this one only has three.

Remember that Miku Hatsune inside™ icon I posted in a previous post? I made a sticker of it and put it onto the box. Comedy gold! At least for me.

Mark aka Coffeebugg told me that when he got this, the figurie was using this face. She’s so cute even with this face. I also noticed though that the color of the images is diminished if I upload PNGs here in WordPress. I’ll put the images up in my Flickr account and let’s see the difference. But that’s for another post. I reuploaded the image in JPEG format but it appears that due to WordPress crunching the images, there’s still some degree of color loss in the images. Shame… And it looks like it’s not any different in Flickr.

Anyhoo, I just love the detail on this Nendoroid and some claim that the quality for the Nendoroid Miku is a notch above the older, or earlier released Nendoroids. The stand is quite convenient also. You just make her sit on it and she’s good for viewing already. To see more of Miku, just click on the images in the gallery below.

Edjie Cosplay

Posted on 25 May 2007 by Mark

As I had said on my previous cosplay post, I’d like to highlight one outstanding cosplayer here at our local scene: Alodia “Edjie” Gosiengfiao. Aside from her obvious good looks and creativity, what also helps bring out the best in cosplaying with this lady is her photographer Tricia Gostingtian a.k.a. *slumberdoll. Tricia frequently asks in her DA account if she’s improving. All I can say is anyone will be amazed by the lighting and filters and angles that she uses. Keep it up~!

Edjie has participated in quite a lot of cosplaying events and I for one have not been able to follow all of them. But if memory serves, one of possible triggers for her fame was when she and her sister, Ashley, were featured on the cover of Culture Crash Comics which was, at that time, the most popular manga-style local comic. They were shown cosplaying as Rikku (Edjie) and Yuna (Ashley). After that, I recall seeing Edjie doing cosplay stints in conventions mostly featuring MMORPGs like Ragnarok Online and Rose Online.

Her road to fame wasn’t a smooth one though. There was a hacking incident where somebody stole her deviantart account and removed her entire gallery. It’s restored now thanks to the folks at DA. Cheers to you guys~! Then there was this incident where someone posted a pic of Edjie cosplaying in 4chan and the flamewars began. So it’s true the more famous you become, the more people grow to hate your fame. Well, if you ask me, you’re really nobody until you get a hater. Now, Edjie’s definitely a somebody!

In a recent con held at SM Mall of Asia (currently the largest shopping mall here in the Philippines), Edjie and her group went on to cosplay as the cast of Death Note with Edjie being Misa. Now, I haven’t really gotten around reading Death Note but I might start today but I’ll leave it to you guys to see how well this group cosplayed them. The quality of the photos are just amazing and I envy Tricia. I’ve always wanted to own an EOS and am currently saving to get myself one sometime soon along with a bunch of nice filters.

So there you go. Happy viewing~!

Local Cosplay Scene

Posted on 24 May 2007 by Mark

Since Danny put up some Kipi pics on his blog entry where Kipi was cosplaying as Misa, I remembered someone from our local scene whom I’d consider a lot more kawaii than Kipi herself: Alodia “Edjie” Gosiengfiao. This is her cosplaying as Misa from Death Note. She’s built up quite a name for herself and her photographer is talented lady. You’ll see a good amount of her cosplay pics here. You’ll also see what her photographer is capable of here. So from here on out, when it’s cosplaying in the local scene, expect a significant amount of highlight on Edjie from moi.

And she’s from my alma mater too. :3

Come to think of it, I’ll do an Edjie/Death Note cosplay feature tomorrow. No head ache today. Nosebleed tomorrow, ya?

In other news, Kanu has another revealing figurine in a very compromising maid costume pose. See the rest of the gallery at Amiami. This is a PVC figurine by Orchid Seed in 1/7 scale. Oh yeah, she’s got cast off abilities too.

Feeling better

Posted on 04 May 2007 by Mark

During my “stasis”, I’ve been reading up on the Bleach manga and managed to watch two of the three 15-minute episodes for Gundam SEED Stargazer. I’m really wanting to own a Rangiku Matsumoto figurine now… :3

But aside from that, Orchid Seed finally released their much awaited Ignis figurine. Now, Ignis has been known to be one kickass chick, with a mean-looking katana and sexeh eyes. I believe there are some figurines of Ignis that have the “cast-off” ability. Now, this one definitely has it and in such a sexy fashion also. Losing the katana and donning a white wedding gown, Ignis is sexier than ever in this PVC reincarnation. Damn, Nitro+ definitely know how to make very sexy character designs. Amiami.com has an entire gallery of Ignis’s wedding gown figurine. Just click the image above as always.

Also, along with this is another figurine that I’ve been looking into for quite some time but couldn’t figure out from which series I saw her. Now I know. She is Tsukino Azusagawa from Yakitate Japan. Now, she’s quite kawaii and sexeh in her bakery uniform but this one’s a nosebleeder. Click on the image above for more at Amiami.com.

Note: Images are from Amiami.com. There are some images in the Ignis gallery that are NSFW.

Lin Zhi Ling

Posted on 06 November 2006 by Mark

This one’s for my cousin Allan. I remember him having shown me a pic of a gorgeous asian woman he stumbled into. Well, I “stumbled” into some similar pics and discovered who she is. Her name is Lin Zhi Ling. She’s quite gorgeous for a 33 year-old, turning 34 this November 29.

Here are some pics: [images courtesy of Yummy Celebrities Dot Com]

More Ito Misaki

Posted on 03 November 2006 by Mark

I was sorting through my blog stats and ran across this site that had apparently linked to my blog. I went to have a look at it but I couldn’t seem to find the link to my blog. The place is Yummy Celebrities Dot Com. Anyhoo, I saw more pics of Ito here. I’ll just post a couple. Hunt for more of her yourself. Hehe! Oh yeah, the Gokusen series just ended today in GMA 7.

Ebihara Yuri

Posted on 18 October 2006 by Mark

Saw her in the McDonald’s Virus blog entry by Danny Choo. I found her cute so I posted her here. If you Google her, you’ll discover that she has an official site as well as a Wikipedia entry. Hmmm… I wonder if Danny has his own Wikipedia entry. Anyhoo, if you wanna read more about her, there’s Wikipedia. All I know is she’s cute and she takes the place of the scary gay clown that is Ronald for the Japanese ads. Here’s her molesting a burger. Kidding. Ain’t she cuuuuuuuuuuute?!

Gong Li

Posted on 12 October 2006 by Mark

I recently saw her in a facial product TV commercial and I felt like I had seen her already in some movie or show. So I did some research on Gong Li’s filmography and voila! she’s part of the cast for the movie Farewell My Concubine which I’ve seen twice already. Quite a powerful movie and she did quite a role there too.
