figma BRS + Random Shots

Posted on 27 October 2010 by Mark

The office is currently abuzz with preparations for Halloween. On Friday, kids in costumes will be walking around to get free candy. My staff are busy preparing decorations for the Plants vs Zombies theme that our area will be decorated with. This is also usually the time I break out the halloween-related toys that I have stashed in my office.

Kyoukas + Domo-kun

BRS + Gloomy

Queen Melissa + Sebastian

Unlike last year where I had all my Nendoroids out on display, this year, I’ve decided to just have these few toys out. I also have all my SIC action figures and a couple of figmas out as well as Psycho Gundam Mk. I but that’s pretty much it for this year. It would have been a pain bringing out ALL the toys from their ziploc bags and then putting them back in after Halloween. Continue Reading

Sitting Nendoroids!

Posted on 20 April 2010 by Mark

Ho! Long time no update! Been busy with work so haven’t been able to post anything new. Just a couple of Nendoroid updates before I run back to work.

Two sitting Nendoroids to be exact. Today, Nendoroid Leina from Queen’s Blade and the first Queen’s Blade-related Nendoroid is up for preorder in Amiami and boy is it the most nekkid Nendoroid I have ever seen! Not only that, it has a pose where it looks risque by Nendoroid standards if there are any.

Random Photo: Will you be my friend?

Posted on 15 February 2010 by Mark

Saihate Miku

After a couple of weeks of inactivity, I finally managed to update my dA account with a new photo featuring my current favorite puchi Nendoroid, Saihate Miku. I just love that look on her face. And her hair! The color of my blog’s logo! Might be ideal to update my banner with this image too!

Over the weekend, my friend Joey got his first exclusive Nendoroid: Nendoroid Marisa Kirisame and he’s quite happy about it. I’m not as much into Touhou as he is although there ARE upcoming Touhou Nendoroid releases that I’m interested in primarily for its design, color and facial expression.

By the way, my 7/11 EXCLUSIVE Revoltech EVA 00 Kai is still up for sale for Php3,000 or $65.00, shipping not included. Note that this is an exclusive of the EVA Unit 00 Kai from the Evangelion 2.0 movie which was up for preorder exclusively from the Japanese 7/11 website. For local buyers, I can meet up at Greenhills on Saturdays and/or Sundays. E-mail me at mark[dot]parrenas[at]winterheim[dot]com if interested.

Vocaloid Puchi Nendoroids

Posted on 15 February 2010 by Mark

Vocaloid Puchi Nendoroids

Vocaloid Puchi Nendoroids

As I had mentioned yesterday, there’s a bigger-than-usual box that arrived over the weekend and Chil enjoyed opening each little box inside. The Vocaloid Puchi Nendoroid set was my first puchi box-of-12 ever and I was quite happy with what I got out of the box. I’m telling you guys off the bat, I managed to get every single design that was released. I’m not sure if that was not the case with everyone else. I did get a double but that’s because there are ten designs plus the jointed Hachune so definitely, there’d be a double. I was hoping the double would be a Saihate Miku but what I got was awesome, nonetheless.

Miku Hatsune

Always been quite fond of this turquoise/green-haired Vocaloid. My only wish was that I was able to acquire the full-sized RQ Miku, the WonFes Hachune and the puchi RQ Miku. I have the regular Nendoroid, the figurine and the figma. Interesting thing about this is that it doesn’t use figma-sized joints for the hair (because the full-sized Nendo used Nendoroid joints for the twintails). Instead, they used a ball joint design for it which was also used for another Vocaloid in the set.

Kaito

Kaito was actually my first full-sized male Nendoroid. Odd thing about that release was that nobody was talking about Kaito AT ALL. Now, whenever I see someone posting Kaito pics on figure.fm, the replies I see are those of regret for not having preordered him or that they’re having trouble hunting him down.

Lin Kagamine

I liked the full-sized Nendoroid release of Lin and Ren Kagamine, mainly because of the blank faces which reminded me of the blank Qees. But I never really liked them enough to buy both of them. Now, at hindsight, I’m regretting that a bit. But still, not enough to try hunting them down and paying at a premium. The puchi version of Lin will have to do for now.

Ren Kagamine

Ren and Lin Kagamine

Such cute characters. Just a bit annoyed with their bent-over pose. Unless you have reflectors or white paper positioned underneath or in front of them, their pose casts shadows on their faces.

Megurine Luka

One of the newer Vocaloids and one that I liked from the get-go. Megurine Luka is absolutely beautiful. I can’t wait to get the two full-sized Nendoroid versions of her!

Meiko

Vocaloid Meiko was the first Japanese female voice release for the Vocaloid program alongside Kaito. Aside from the fact that she came out as far back as 2004, there is nothing else that I know of Meiko. Miku was quite popular from the get-go so the first Vocaloid character I was exposed to was Miku and only found out about Meiko down the line.

Sakine Meiko

From the Vocaloid Wiki:

Meiko Sakine is one of the Vocaloid derivatives officially recognized by Crypton Future Media, the publisher of the Character Vocal Series for VOCALOID2. The other derivatives bearing this distinction is Miku Hachune, Haku Yowane, Neru Akita, and Tako Luka.

Sakine means Blooming Sound and can also be read as Preceding Sound since Meiko came out before Miku did. Notice that while the regular Meiko does not have a headset, Sakine Meiko sports one that is a bit smaller than what Miku and the rest have.

Saihate Miku

This version of Miku is from a video of the song Saihate by Kobayashi Onyx where the song speaks about dealing with the loss of someone special thus the mourning clothes that Miku us wearing in this figure. In the set, she’s my favorite puchi as well as my present favorite iteration of Miku.

Akita Neru

Akita Neru is derived from the phrase ???????which means going to bed. This character was born out of the time Miku users were degraded by a TV show in Japan and the flaming that happened in 2ch. Afterwards, to make the issue die down, writings and replies included phrases like the one mentioned above, thus establishing a base for the personification of the character.

Yowane Haku

Yowane Haku is a play on the words to say negative thoughts. Basically, Haku is used to mark badly-done Miku Hatsune songs. Poor thing. No wonder she’s got that facial expression.

Hachune Miku

Hachune Miku is basically a mispronunciation of Miku’s name to show childishness and foolishness. This particular puchi is quite interesting because of the fact that she is the first puchi Nendoroid to have joints. You’ll find one in every Vocaloid Puchi Nendoroid box.

*phew*

That was quite a mouthful. So those are all the puchi Nendoroids I acquired in a single box. Quite happy that I got everything in the set. And I did mention that I got doubles, right?

Double Mikus

Chil gets to keep the double. ^_^

Vocaloid information was taken from the Vocaloid Wiki.

Bakemonogatari Puchi

Posted on 01 December 2009 by Mark

Bakemonogatari Puchi

Saw these pics at Mikatan’s blog. It’s a puchi set of three and it comes with interchangeable parts for Senjougahara. Now I’m not sure if the same can be said for the other two puchi Nendoroids but Senjougahara comes with a pink stapler right hand, a blue stapler left hand, a yellow cutter right hand and a bent elbow left arm. Click on the image above to see the rest of the pictures from Mikatan’s blog.

The Aftermath

Posted on 20 November 2009 by Mark

Remember yesterday when the Lil’ ‘Uns had an encounter with our resident bloodthirsty bear? Here’s what happened afterwards:

No, Gloomy’s not really dead. So rest assured that you’ll still see him harassing other Nendoroids on my office desk.

Today’s a Friday and yet somehow I feel bah-humbug about it. I’m definitely looking forward to the weekend and I can’t wait to spend some time with my girlfriend. But this past week has been some sort of emotional crawl for me and I don’t know why. It’s like I couldn’t figure out where to start on every work day I had this week. Hopefully, I get my head sorted out this coming weekend because I don’t like being in this sinkhole.

So what are your plans for the weekend?

The Lil' 'Uns Come For A Visit

Posted on 19 November 2009 by Mark

And so coffeebugg’s Mini Kyoukas are here again for a visit. And this time, they brought along another friend: Puchi Churuya.

First thing they saw was Wadsworth, my DS Lite. One Mini Kyouka wanted to play right away. But it was charging and they couldn’t figure out how to turn it on. Then something else caught their attention…

Uh-oh… And I’m not even worried about the lil’ ‘uns…

Secret Puchi Vocaloid

Posted on 19 November 2009 by Mark

This is the secret puchi Nendoroid that comes with the other 10 puchi Nendoroids from the upcoming Vocaloid set that GSC is releasing. This would be the first full motion puchi Nendoroid that GSC has ever rolled out. It has elbows and knees! Elbows and knees!!!

I ordered a box and coffeebugg ordered one too. I just hope that I at least get this one, the blue-haird Miku, Megurine Luka, the regular Miku and maybe Kaito.  If I get at least one of each of these from the box set, I’d be a happy man. ^_^

Hit up the image link to see the rest of the pics from Mikatan’s blog.

Nendoroid Update

Posted on 04 August 2009 by Mark

Vocaloid Puchi Nendoroids

Vocaloid Puchi Nendoroids

I had written about GSC releasing Vocaloid Puchi Nendoroids many moons ago. Visited Mikatan’s blog and lo and behold, they seem to have added two new items to the set of puchi Nendoroids. there’s a yellow twintail and a white-haired chick. I’m not that well-versed on Vocaloids but they are definitely nice additions to the set. Can’t wait for their release so that I can order myself a set.

New Death Note Nendoroids or additional puchi Nendoroids?

New Death Note Nendoroids or additional puchi Nendoroids?

Don’t see any puchi Nendoroids beside it so I’m not sure if they’re the regular-sized Nendoroids or the puchi-sized ones. If they’re the puchi-sized ones, then they might be bonus Nendoroids for the upcoming Death Note Puchi Nendoroid set.

Mikatan’s blog featured other upcoming full-size Nendoroids including the entire cast of K-On which is something I’m sooo looking forward to most especially Mio.
