The office is currently abuzz with preparations for Halloween. On Friday, kids in costumes will be walking around to get free candy. My staff are busy preparing decorations for the Plants vs Zombies theme that our area will be decorated with. This is also usually the time I break out the halloween-related toys that I have stashed in my office.

Unlike last year where I had all my Nendoroids out on display, this year, I’ve decided to just have these few toys out. I also have all my SIC action figures and a couple of figmas out as well as Psycho Gundam Mk. I but that’s pretty much it for this year. While I’m still working on a preorder update format for this blog, I’ll start with a Daily Toy Finds entry instead. This is to showcase some of the toys that I find noteworthy for every day. So some of these you might not find interesting at all but these would be items I would acquire if money was not an issue.

First up…

Mikatan’s blog was updated recently with this bit of good news for Touhou fans out there. It’s a Touhou Project puchi Nendoroid set. There aren’t much details shown yet aside from a single base and that huge crate. Not as familiar with Touhou as some major fans that I know. But having seen the trend of Touhou Nendoroid releases, this is most likely to be another exclusive, limited-edition release, just like every other Touhou-releated release from Goodsmile and Max Factory. This is a very recent acquisition and has not yet been opened at all. Completely mint condition, box and all. This is the Revoltech EVA 00 Kai 7/11 Exclusive release. The design of this Revoltech is the same as the most recent Evangelion Revoltech iterations based on the EVA 2.0 movie.

So while Yoko and Pixel Maritan were playing around in their sandbag fort, thinking NOTHING could go wrong with the firepower they were packing, the didn’t notice someone sneaking up from behind an upturned Zaku military mug.

At the moment I’m sipping coffee at my desk surrounded by Nendoroids so I figured I’d cook up this scenario since the primary reason I got Pixel Maritan is to be the other half of this gun-rage duo I had pictured in my mind before. As I mentioned before, Yoko is using one of the faces of Nendoroid Kyouka. I’ll have three more gun-wielders in the form of Canaan, Alphard and Ein so my office desk should see more action. For the meantime though, it’s Gloomy livening things up on the desktop.

I recently found a decently-priced 1/8 Kyouka Midarezaki figurine and I’ve already made arrangements to acquire it PRIMARILY for the mini-Kyoukas that come with the figurine. I had passed on an item almost a year ago that I had seriously wanted to own: WonFes Miku. Now, I’m not going to let this other one slide. It’s not an exclusive but it’s quite a rarity now.

This incident is the cause for a series of episodes where Gloomy starts harassing my small Nendoroid community.

Got myself a blue Championship shirt last Friday and yesterday, my second Championship shirt arrived thanks to my brother who bought it from my university. The second one is what I’m featuring here today with Gloomy.

I wanted to get this design because it had details on the championship as well as the team members’ names at the back. Of course, Gloomy was there to inspect it. I put his muzzle on just in case he got the urge to tear my shirt to pieces.

This is our sesquicentennial year in the Ateneo. 150 years! What a way to celebrate it by pulling off back to back championships in Men’s Basketball! And to make things sweeter, our junior team (high school level) made a back to back championship win as well.

Gloomy tries to gnaw at the shirt but the muzzle stops him from doing so.

So he tries wearing it instead. Fails at it too.

As I mentioned above, what I liked about this shirt is that it had the names of the players at the back. Gloomy tries to read the names…

Too many words to comprehend. Gloomy’s brain freezes for a moment.

I think the muzzle’s starting to annoy Gloomy. Unless he thinks it’s fashionable. Maybe he’s a closet BDSM type of grizzly.

I was getting ready for work after waking a couple of hours earlier than usual to prepare Spam rice which Chil requested that I make for her for dinner. Just as I was getting ready to pack, I saw Gloomy sitting quietly at a corner of the dining table.

Poor bloodthirsty bear wanted to do something but the poor kid was nowhere in sight. But then he smelled something…

He saw the Spam rice that I was preparing. D:

I could do nothing but watch as the grizzly with the bloodstained claws sniffed around at my packed meal.

I need to go already but didn’t want to risk the deadly grizzly’s ire so I could not do anything but wait for him to finish his sniffing around.

Even if I really wanted to pack this away and head off to the office, he didn’t seem to give a damn and continued to circle the container at his own leisure.

Ack! He saw me!

*grrrrrrr*

Oh boy…

Thankfully, after this, the boy made a fatal mistake of passing by and Gloomy saw him. The distraction allowed me to put away my packed food and get out of the house before the carnage ensued. Little did I know, both of them managed to stow away inside my bag.

Finally picked up my Gloomy from my local supplier and boy do I find this Naughty Grizzle absolutely adorable, blood and all!

*hmmm*

Looks like Gloomy’s thinking about something…gruesome. He’s drooling blood too. Maybe residue from that kid he beat up earlier.

My brother was sleeping CSI Miami, dozed off. Now, he’s prone to Gloomy’s bloody, murderous claws.

Was at SM Megamall today. Saw this pair of the latest Questra boots. Back in high school, these were very popular casual wear shoes but after the blue and green versions of the Adidas Questra, I don’t recall having seen any newer versions on the shelves…until a friend of mine mentioned the resurrection of the Questra. So I’ve been hunting these down ever since. But I always saw the futsal version and not the turf soccer version which is what I preferred. So when Chil showed me these, I didn’t think twice about getting them. And boy am I excited to wear this tomorrow.
